Something Is Coming and It's Full of Summer

Something is coming and it's been growing since may.

It started in early may, when something shifted.

The light got longer, flowers started appearing everywhere — in the fields, along the roads, in the gardens I walk by with prince. I felt that familiar pull into the studio, the kind that makes it hard to think about anything else.

I started painting.

Not one piece.. several. All of them carrying the same feeling: summer. not the calendar date, but the energy of it. The warmth that sits heavy in the air. petals that seem almost too vivid to be real. The way sunshine changes everything it touches.

I've been working on these quietly, in that private space where paintings slowly find themselves. I don't always know what a piece is about until it's almost finished and that's been true here too. Each one has been revealing itself gradually, blooming in its own time.

And then I went to portugal.

Two weeks surrounded by places and trees and flowers I had never seen before. Colours I didn't have words for. The kind of beauty that doesn't ask permission, it just fills you up completely. I came home even more certain about what I’m making and why.

These paintings are going to be something special. The kind that changes the feeling of a room. full of light and warmth and that deep summer aliveness that's hard to put into words but impossible to miss once you feel it.

As summer slowly fades and autumn begins to settle over Estonia, I felt the urge to capture the fleeting beauty of the season. Eternal serenity is an original abstract painting that holds onto those golden moments of warmth, freedom and calm that summer leaves behind.

For me, this painting was a way to bring the calm and serenity of summer indoors. With the weather’s shifting more and more each day, I wanted to create something that carries the essence of greenery, peaceful afternoons and beautiful blooms.

We still have snow in Estonia, and currently, it's -7 degrees, but in my heart, there's Spring.

Flourish is my tribute to that magical moment when the first hyacinths burst into life, filling the world with their delicate beauty and fragrance. Just as nature awakens after winter’s stillness, we, too, experience our own moments of transformation.

It had been a while since I worked on diptyches, and I was so excited to create this duo. The process of bringing these two pieces to life felt like a new beginning, much like the first signs of spring after a long winter.

Peaceful reflection series- a journey of serenity and beauty

Art has always been my way of connecting with the world and capturing the emotions that often go beyond words. My series Peaceful Reflection is a testament to those quiet, serene moments that remind us of the beauty surrounding us daily.

This series began as a personal journey- a way to reflect on the tranquility and wonder I encountered during my travels From the soft whispers of wind in the trees to the calming flow of lakes and the vibrant hues of blooming flowers, every painting is a piece of the serenity I found in nature.

Each work in this series is more than just colors on paper; it’s a doorway to a tranquil space. Through lush greens, soothing purples and warm golden highlights, I aimed to evoke a sense of calm and stillness, inviting you to pause and appreciate life’s quieter moments.

2024 in review: A year of creativity, growth and inspiration

I’ve been reflecting on the incredible year that 2024 has been. It has been a year filled with creativity, inspiration, and growth—both as an artist and as a person. Looking back, I’m grateful for all the experiences and opportunities that came my way, and I’m excited to share some of the highlights with you.

A Year of Artistic Creation

One of the most fulfilling parts of 2024 was the sheer amount of creativity that flowed through me. I had the opportunity to finish numerous paintings that I poured my heart and soul into. Each piece was a reflection of my journey, whether it was inspired by nature, personal experiences, or moments of pure inspiration. It’s always a beautiful feeling to step back and see the body of work that has been created over a year, and this year has been no exception.

Inspiration from Travel

In June, I had the privilege of traveling to some breathtaking places that truly sparked my creativity. I visited beautiful locations that filled my heart with so much joy. One of the most memorable experiences was a boat ride on Lake Como, Italy. The peacefulness and beauty of the landscape were overwhelming, and I knew right away that these moments of tranquility would influence my work in profound ways.

Traveling has always been a major source of inspiration for me. Every new place I visit brings with it a sense of wonder and a fresh perspective, which is exactly what I need to fuel my creativity. The sights, sounds, and emotions tied to these places become part of my paintings, infusing each piece with a sense of the places and experiences that have shaped me.

Exhibitions and New Opportunities

One of the major milestones of this year was having the opportunity to showcase my artwork at the Café Gallery in Tallinn. This solo exhibition marked a significant moment in my artistic journey—it was my first solo show, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. It was an honor to see my work on display in such a beautiful space, and it was incredibly rewarding to connect with those who came to view my paintings.

Later in the year, in November, I had the privilege of showing my work at the newly opened Victoria Olt Gallery. The opening night was unforgettable—there was an incredible program, and I had the chance to meet some truly talented individuals. The experience was a wonderful reminder of how art brings people together, and I’m so grateful for the connections I made that evening.

New Beginnings: A New Series

As the year drew to a close, I began working on a new series of paintings, inspired by my travels. This series reflects the beauty of the places I visited in 2024 and the emotions they evoked in me. I’m excited to see how this new direction evolves in 2025 and how these new pieces will continue to shape my journey as an artist.

Gratitude for Growth and Opportunities

Looking back, 2024 has been a year of growth, learning, and new connections. I am incredibly thankful for all the opportunities I’ve had to showcase my work, as well as the amazing people I’ve met along the way. It’s been a year of hard work, reflection, and above all, joy in the creative process.

I’m excited for what 2025 will bring, but for now, I’m taking a moment to appreciate all that I’ve accomplished and the incredible experiences that made 2024 such a special year.
